Back-To-Church Sunday — September 20!

Back to Church Fall Baby

Back-to-Church Sunday – Sept. 20 – Features Sunday School Kick Off, Church Picnic and Christian Magician!

We encourage you to invite friends for what promises to be a great Sunday! Highlights include a special introduction to Sunday school at 9 AM, a great time gathering for worship at 10, and then a picnic together at 11:15 following church. At 12:15 we will host Terry Magelssen and his Believe the Amazing Show!

We encourage folks to come dressed more casually so that all feel comfortable at the picnic. Our church is joining over 30,000 churches nationwide on designating a special Sunday to call our members and those in the community to come on back to church. Whether it be all the summer vacations or just getting caught up in other activities, it is good for all of us to get back in church.

Then the Church Council is hosting a picnic with the support of many of the groups in our church. Hot dogs on the grill, mission burgers, chips, drinks and ice cream are provided. Every family is asked to bring a pie. We expect to have a great time with activities for the whole family.

Prepare to Be Amazed – Christian Illusionist Great for Whole Family!

Christian Illusionist Terry Magelssen will perform as the climax to our Back-to-Church Sunday and Sunday School Kickoff. A native of Kansas City, Terry was “bitten” by the “Magic Bug” at the age of 12 when a classmate caused a handkerchief to change colors right in front of his face. That launched a lifelong interest in magic and illusions. Since 1985, Terry has appeared at thousands of events across the Midwest and nationally to weave his brand of mystery, wonder and comedy to audiences of all sizes and ages. Terry was voted “Magician of The Year” six times by the International Brotherhood of Magicians. He appeared at large performing arenas and even in a CBS TV movie.

Terry knew and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior when a teen, but had since lived in the world surrounded by a hunger for fame, success and money. When personal trials and tribulations brought Terry back to the cross, he knew God was slowly working on him to use his gifts and talents for His glory.

Terry in a boxWe encourage you to invite family, friends, neighbors and children to this incredible show focusing on illusion, deception and truth. Along the way, those attending will be reminded of the good news of God’s great love in our Lord Jesus.
