The Music of Christmas

On a cold dark hillside outside of a little Jewish town, songs from a powerful chorus of angels announced the first Christmas – Jesus Christ, our God and Savior, was born! Ever since that time, music has been used by many to express their joy over the greatest gift any of us could receive—the gift of God’s love in spite of our unworthiness.

Whether old or new, the carols of Christmas are the overflow of the meditations of fellow believers. They took to heart the miraculous events of the coming of God the Son to this earth. They have mulled over complex truths and tried to express them in a way that these glimpses into the loving purposes of God would not be forgotten.

Many of us can sing these carols by heart. We only need to hear a measure or two and we can pick up the song and carry it forward. But do we grasp the depth of what comes from our lips? In this series, Pastor Christopher helps us to connect more deeply with the truths of God’s great news revealed upon our Savior’s birth!
