What’s your favorite part of the Christmas Eve service? Coming together to share and celebrate the greatest moment of world history, that quiet entrance of our Savior into our world, sneaking in through a humble stable? Perhaps it’s the music that lifts our spirits and reminds us of so many happy moments over the years? Or you might love the moment as we light the candles one from another, seeing the glow on our neighbor’s face and hearing the sublime strains of Silent Night, Holy Night at the end of the service.
The hush in the sanctuary before the candles are lit, that’s one of my famous moments. Another is the children’s time when they gather on the platform and you never know what they might say.
Come gather together this Wednesday. Come fellowship and worship and think deeply on the great love of God. “But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.” (Ephesians 2:4-5 NIV)
