Challenge Students Had a Fantastic Experience!

Facebook-banner-RestoredThe 11 students (Matt Block, Elizabeth and Samuel Fahrmeier, Dylan Frazee, Jordon and Quinton Hill, Caitlyn Niendick, Kiera Paige, Hunter Pence, Shelby Potter, Kelsi Southard) who went to Challenge 2014 in Kansas City were blown away by the experience. According to them, none of the hype, none of the videos or testimonies they had heard came close to describing what they discovered as they descended on the Kansas City convention Center and Municipal Auditorium on Sunday evening, July 6.

As they filed into the auditorium, they joined over 5,000 other students from 260+ Free Churches from across the country. (And some students from Singapore!) The place was hopping with high energy activities even before the program for the night began. Watch introductory video here.

Rend Collective

After opening comments and video, The Gathering (the name for each large group meeting) focused on worship led by the Irish Band, Rend Collective Experiment. Students were stunned to realize that this was a group they had heard on Air One and K-Love, local Christian radio stations. The band truly drew us into the presence of the Lord and each evening inspired us to see God’s plan and His purposes through His church, specifically that part of the body of Christ present in that room!

Incredible messages geared to the experience of youth yet incredibly true to God’s Word took us through God’s entire plan of Restoration, beginning with the Creation.

Following each Gathering (9 total), our students met in the Huddle — sometimes together as an entire group, but mostly in groups separated to into male and female groups led by Pastor Christopher and Jacquelyn Houts. Many of these times proved to be critical boosts to each student’s walk with the Lord and helped to apply the things learned in The Gathering.

There was ample time for fun and for service throughout the week. Afternoon free time was split between two service projects painting homes for widows in the inner city of KC, recreational tournaments and enjoying downtown.

TWO OF THE MAJOR THINGS THE STUDENTS WANT TO COMMUNICATE BACK HOME ARE:

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO SUPPORTED US FINANCIALLY AND IN PRAYER!
We have come back home to Live the Story & Tell the Story!
Please pray for our success in continuing to follow Jesus back home away from the excitement of the conference.

Everyone is looking forward to Challenge 2016 in Louisville!
