Though the challenge of the blended family is growing
by leaps and bounds, many people think that God doesn’t know
what they are going through. After all, no one in the Bible experienced
the struggles common to blended families, right?
This week we look at the “Story of Dysfunction” in the life of Jacob,
the forefather of the twelve tribes of Israel.
Tricked into marrying a woman he didn’t love
(with no option of divorce),
Jacob ends up personifying the five traits
of family dysfunction. These are common to every
family, but these occur most naturally in the
challenging environment of the blended family.
